VOTE TRISHA BUTLER on 3 November 2020
Trisha believes that all citizens’ inherent (or God-given) rights are protected (not granted) by the United States Constitution. This applies to both their person and their owned property. When an issue is controversial she will always consult the Bill of Rights for the answer.
Trisha holds fast to the premise that our local government has limited basic functions and aims to cut down on government intervention in our lives. This is both to maximize personal freedom and to streamline government functions to be more focused and efficient as well as save taxpayer money.
The City of Clarksville is $145M in debt (including interest.) Clarksville is spending much more than we have. Good stewardship of The People’s money should be of paramount importance to our elected officials. Trisha is committed to cutting spending, balancing the budget and paying off our debt.
Trisha is passionate that her neighbors, the citizens of Ward 12, deserve a representative that listens to them and genuinely cares about their issues and concerns. Her promise is to be approachable, accessible and interactive with her voters with an open door policy and regular Town Hall gatherings.
Clarksville IS growing and will continue to grow. Trisha welcomes this growth while standing steadfast in the position; we need to focus our fight on adequately preparing our infrastructure and schools. The development of Clarksville should add to the quality of life of all residents. Our citizens should be flourishing and not suffering from irresponsible and unmitigated expansion
Trisha believes that local law enforcement and citizens have a responsibility to work together to protect personal property. It is her intent to encourage and facilitate training and educational events with Clarksville public services and residents. An educated and empowered community will enhance the safety of our City.
